Call for contribution “The resurgence of authoritarian politics and the far-right in contemporary Europe”
Please consider the following call for contributions entitled “The resurgence of authoritarian politics and the far-right in contemporary Europe”, launched by Geographica Helvetica. This issue aims to reflect on the evolution, development and change of the European resurgence of authoritarian politics, expressions of fascism and the far-right from a geographical perspective.
The theme issue seeks to assemble a wide range of different national, linguistic and theoretical traditions and perspectives from early-career to senior scholars. We offer different formats (peer-reviewed standard articles up to 8000 words excl. references, peer-reviewed short interventions up to 3500 words excl. references, book reviews, not peer-reviewed creative forums) and can handle submissions in four different languages (English, German, French, Italian). Deadline for submitting an abstract up to 300 words incl author bio, affiliation, career stage: 31. August 2025.
About Geographica Helvetica: Geographica Helvetica offers a platform for empirically grounded and theory-driven research and debates in all fields of geography as well as in neighbouring disciplines. The journal is particularly committed to exploring and fostering situated and internationalist perspectives on the manifold connections, disconnections and differences within Europe, and between Europe and other parts of the world. This agenda derives from the specificity of Swiss geography as a meeting ground for different geographical traditions and languages. All articles are published open access, without APCs.
