La \u00abpiccola Europa\u00bb sulle Alpi orientali sta per scomparire? La Valcanale (Friuli) nella tarda et\u00e0 moderna<\/h2>\n

La ricerca intende studiare le connessioni che si instaurano tra trasformazioni identitarie e paesaggio etno-culturale in una prospettiva di lunga durata; considera in particolare le trasformazioni che riguardano i vari gruppi etnici della Valcanale (Friuli) dai tempi dell\u2019annessione di questa valle al confine con Austria e Slovenia, allo Stato unitario italiano dopo la prima guerra mondiale. I risultati della ricerca dimostrano come sia ancora possibile definire quest\u2019area una \u00abpiccola Europa\u00bb, sebbene le minoranze tedesche e slovene autoctone, in confronto alla maggioranza italofona, si siano indebolite fino a quasi scomparire. In genere, le trasformazioni connesse ai passaggi generazionali (compreso l\u2019intermarriage), e al drammatico regresso demografico, si sono accentuate a partire dagli anni Novanta. Ci\u00f2 nondimeno, elementi delle etnicit\u00e0 originarie possono ancora essere individuati negli aspetti del patrimonio materiale e immateriale, e in particolare nel paesaggio culturale. Questo tende a essere considerato in misura crescente come un valore da parte della popolazione, a prescindere dall\u2019origine, contribuendo al consolidamento di una identit\u00e0, piuttosto che tipicamente etnica, connotata da elementi di regionalismo e localismo.<\/p>\n

Abstract:<\/strong> The Valcanale (Friuli) in Late Modern Times. Is Eastern Alps\u2019 \u00abLittle Europe\u00bb disappearing?<\/p>\n

The present study addresses the impact of spatial structures over a longue dur\u00e9e based on symbolic ethnicity within a cultural landscape heritage framework. It examines changes of ethnic groups within the Valcanale (Friuli) since its national affiliation to Italy, focusing on German and Slovenian-speaking minorities. Results of this thesis-based contribution show that \u00abLittle Europe\u00bb is still evident, even though the broad existence of the area\u2019s four official languages \u2013 the two minority languages plus Italian and Friulian \u2013 has been almost lost in the meantime. The region\u2019s generational shift (including intermarriage) and a significant population decline have intensified this development since the the Nineties. Yet, echoes of the autochtonous Valcanale population are reflected in the area\u2019s symbolic ethnicity of material and immaterial cultural heritage. This is increasingly perceived as an asset by the majority of the population, not considering the ethnic origin, strengthening a no longer ethnolinguistic but a new, regionally connoted identity.<\/p>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Auf Basis des Konzeptes der symbolischen Ethnizit\u00e4t thematisiert die vorliegende Studie Raumstrukturen, im Konkreten die Kulturlandschaft, u\u0308ber eine longue dur\u00e9e. Gegenstand der Untersuchung ist der Wandel der ethnischen Gruppen nach der Anbindung des Kanaltals an Italien, mit Fokus auf die deutsch- und slowenischsprachigen Minderheiten. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass \u00abKlein-Europa\u00bb weiterbesteht, wenngleich autochthone Kanaltaler, die alle vier Sprachen im Alltag praktizieren \u2013 die zwei Minderheitensprachen sowie Italienisch und Friulanisch \u2013 selten geworden sind. Dieser ru\u0308ckl\u00e4ufige Trend wurde seit den 1990er Jahren durch Generationswechsel und intermarriage sowie durch eine signifikante Bev\u00f6lkerungsabnahme verst\u00e4rkt. Ungeachtet davon reflektieren das materielle und immaterielle kulturelle Erbe die symbolische Ethnizit\u00e4t der autochthonen Kanaltaler. Den ethnischen Ursprung au\u00dfer Acht lassend nimmt auch die Mehrheit diese Alleinstellungsmerkmale wahr, welche zur Konstruktion einer neuen, regionalen Identit\u00e4t fu\u0308hren.<\/p>\n
