Quale “spazio” per la ricerca geografica?
Abstract: Which “Spac e” for Geographical Research?
The conclusion of a recent research on the transformation of italian banking system after its liberalization in 1990, is an opportunity to reflect on the role that geographer can assume to analyze an economic activity dominated by immateriality but fundamental for the organization throughout the country and the process of local development. The concept of “space” is assumed with two meanings: like physic space (territorial dimension often latent but essential and connected to rationality of economic agents) or like business contact area (active search of geography in other social and economic disciplines).
