Abstract: Immigration Language and Education

Migration is a change in the socio-geographic frame. Integration in the receiving community and preservation of the cultural identity are forces that go in opposite directions, and language plays a central role. The duty of the receiving country is to facilitate integration of the migrant by appropriate linguistic programs, without annihilating the original identity. This article discusses this matter and presents the values of a multilingual society in the process of education.
