Abstract: Thermalism between Past and Present: Case of Bormio and Sermione
The A. explores the origin of thermal tourism in the ancient world, highlighting the connection between the therapeutic element and the dimension of hedonistic well being aimed to body care and leisure. The A. considers this combination as a unique anticipation of the present thermal touristic phenomenon and analyzes the two signifi cant examples of Bormio and Sirmione in their historical development and their potential for future development.
