Call for scientific and non-academic reviewers. Deadline: 12 November 2018
Dear all,
Following the call for pre-proposals on Pathways towards Sustainable Urban Development in Africa, applications are now open for scientists and non-academic experts to help in reviewing full proposals.
To ensure that science can effectively contribute to sustainable urban development in Africa, the International Science Council in partnership with the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC), and with the financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, will support up to 12 collaborative research projects across Africa (to the value of up to 90,000 Euro each over two years) in 2019. These projects are expected to generate new solutions-oriented, integrated knowledge required in the practice of sustainable urban development in Africa.
We are now looking for scientists and non-academic experts with expertise in urban governance and planning, provision of services in cities (e.g. clean drinking water, sanitation, energy, health, housing, waste treatment transportation), ecosystem-based approaches to urban resilience, disaster risk reduction, air pollution, climate mitigation and adaptation in urban context to review full proposals between Nov 2018-mid Jan 2019. Experience in inter- and transdisciplinary research would be of great value. Guidelines for review will be provided and a remuneration for this task (20 Euro per proposal) is available.
If you are interested in contributing to our efforts in making African cities more sustainable and resilient by reviewing proposal(s), please contact katsia.paulavets@council.science by 12 November 2018. We would also appreciate if you could disseminate the call through your network. Thank you!
Best regards,
Nora
